ABOUT
Welcome to Heart Prints, Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
My name is Lucy and I am specially trained and experienced in work with children, adolescents, their parents, youth practitioners and adult individuals (BSc, PGCert, PGDip, MEd).

I have 15 years experience working in the fields of mental health, education and care, starting my career from the ground up by working in learning support, support work for various client groups including severe and moderate learning difficulties, homeless youth and mother and baby units, and child support work in a women's refuge. Whilst working in these sectors I gained a bachelor of science in Psychology in 2010 and went on to qualify with a masters of education in Psychotherapeutic Counselling for children and adolescents from Cambridge University in 2016.
Since then I have mainly worked in educational settings as a therapeutic lead supporting students, parents, school, staff and trainee therapists. More recently I have worked in London based local authorities supporting children, carers and practitioners in the foster care system and youth services. I am now opening my own private practice to work with a diverse range of client groups, in the village of Kings Langley.

I truly believe that it is relationships that can help people to work through their struggles, support the development of self-esteem, emotional awareness and emotional regulation. With this I take a relational approach within my work, and I am also interested in upskilling and strengthening the relationships around my clients, to give as long lasting an impact as possible.

I use a variety of approaches and creative mediums to meet the unique needs of each person I work with. I am person and child centred at the heart of my work, I am DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) informed and I work from an attachment and trauma informed perspective. I also work closely in line with the nervous system with knowledge on how this influences our emotional regulation and functioning day to day, and strategies for understanding and mastering our own emotional regulation and growth.
