SUPPORT FOR PARENTS / PARENT & CHILD THERAPY
At Heart Prints, I offer private support for parents and parent-child dyadic therapy, by combining my knowledge and experience as a child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellor, and my training in DDP (Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy) with Dr. Dan Hughes and the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiousity and Empathy).
While the heart of my work is with the emotional well-being of children and young people, I also want to help parents to feel supported, to have their own sense of well-being, to better understand the emotional worlds of their children, and to feel confident in their parent-child relationships.

Through exploring and developing relational skills and strategies, I aim to support families to develop ways of communicating and routines which support their relationships and the smooth running of the family home.
Sessions can be held either online or in person, and can either be individually for the parent, or can involve sessions with parents and children together (dyadic sessions). With dyadic sessions, the process begins with the parent(s) alone, with the view to then involve the child to address any areas of concern including:

-
Divorce / Separation
-
Bereavement
-
Significant events or changes in the family set up including moving home or moving school
-
Challenges that the young person may be facing
-
Challenges that the parent may be facing
-
Any other area where a strengthened relationship may be sought
